I rediscovered this picture I had taken some time ago…and I still like it. I like the way the shape of the mirror echoes the stones and the cracks in the mirror do the same. I like my goofy smile in the middle of the whole thing. Tyler Durden might call it clever. I don’t know, but it makes me smile.
I just wanted to thank everyone who came over to our house this weekend and braved the 98 degree weather to celebrate my 40th and witness the renewal of our wedding vows. I’m humbled by the love of the people around me.

I’m sure there is some mathematician somewhere who has a theory about how things seem to happen in groups and today…is one of those days for me. I started off the morning looking at an article on National Geographic on biomimetics. A word I had heard before, may have even understood it but I promptly forgot it. Until today! Then thanks to EvolvedSkeptic stumbled into this, this and this. Truly remarkable.

This gurgled up through my RSS feeds and added fuel to two memes that have produced significant foam in my mind. Steampunk and Star Wars. I’ll do nothing to even attempt to lessen the geekiness.
